OUR Campaigns

Our ongoing campaign is part of the 999whereareyou National campaign.

The Can We Find You campaign aims to ensure that householders and businesses put their property number on the outside wall, door or gate of their property as well as the name of the house or business.

When we respond to an emergency call we need to find where we are going quickly - someones life may depend on it.

So heres how you can help get help - faster:

  •  If your house has a name, put your number up too. We can use numbers in sequence to ensure we are going the right way up or down your street.
  • Make sure your Number is large enough to be seen from the street. It should be at least 80mm/3.5inch tall.
  • If you can, place your number on your gate or the garden wall. Numbers on doors can be too far away to be seen from the road, or if its round the side, we can't see it at all.
  • Cut back foliage regularly round your number. Bushes can hide the number, particularly in spring and summer.
  • Make it stand out! Black on White backgroud or vice versa. Lack of contrast can make the number impossible to see, especially at night.
  • Help your neighbours make their house number more visible. We will be able to find your house more quickly if we can see their numbers.
  • Encourage your local shopkeepers to put their building number up too. If we see their number, we know we're not far from you!

Download a poster, put it up at your workplace, school, group or local shop.
